Jo Jacobson is a fully registered psychologist with APHRA and a social worker. She also has a Masters in Health Science (Child and Adolescent Health) from the University of Sydney.  Jo has had over 20 years experience working with adults, children and families in public and private health services.  In addition to working in private practice she also works as a school psychologist.

She has a specific interest in using creative methods to engage and therapeutically work with young clients.  In therapy she utilises a variety of evidenced based theoretical frameworks such as cognitive behavioural therapy, play therapy and interventions drawn from positive psychology. She has spent numerous years running groups with children, adolescents and parents. She has trained both in the UK and Sydney in  evidenced based mindfulness programs and is also an accredited facilitator of the international evidenced based ‘Circle of Security’ attachment based parenting program.

She is passionate about helping connect children, adolscents and young adults to a deeper understanding of who they are and how they work. She is committed to help clients feel more connected to their brains and bodies. Jo is dedicated to creating a safe, non-judgemental space that allows for change and transformation through connection and kindness. She is practical in her approach, and sees the benefit and need for all children and parents to possess a toolbox of life skills.

Jo works in our Sydney clinic and offers telehealth.
